FAQ

Questions guests often ask before they book.

If you’re unsure which experience is right for you, text us or call and we’ll help you choose the best fit.

Do I need a reservation?

Yes. Reservations are required and are booked on our site. Custom experiences are best when time is protected, and reserved appointments ensure we can give each guest the attention the process deserves.

How long does a fitting take?

Most fittings are designed to feel relaxed rather than rushed. The exact timing depends on the level of customization and the size of your group, but the experience is meant to give you space to choose well.

Can groups book together?

Absolutely. Highland Hatter is ideal for pairs, small groups, girls’ weekends, bridal parties, and family gatherings. Shared experiences tend to become better stories.

Do you offer private events?

Yes. We offer private event bookings in the shop and select on-site experiences for groups who want a more personalized setting.

Is this a good fit for weddings or bridal weekends?

Very much so. It gives guests something more meaningful than a favor and more memorable than another scheduled stop. It is a beautiful addition to wedding weekends, welcome parties, bridesmaid gatherings, and hosted celebrations.

What does the booking fee cover?

The booking fee reserves dedicated time and service. It covers the private experience, styling guidance, shaping, and support throughout the appointment. Hats are selected and purchased during the appointment unless you choose to structure things differently.

Is the cost of the hat included in the booking fee?

No. Hats and accessories are selected and purchased separately during the appointment unless otherwise stated for a specific experience.

Do I need to know exactly what I want before I arrive?

Not at all. The value of the experience is the guidance. We help you discover what works, refine your choices, and create something that feels like you without requiring you to arrive as your own stylist.

Can you travel for on-site fittings?

Yes, for select bookings. On-site experiences are a strong option for private homes, retreats, events, and hosted weekends that want the experience brought directly to them.

What makes this different from buying a hat online?

Online shopping can deliver a product. It cannot deliver discernment. What makes this different is the guidance, the setting, the memory, and the fact that the finished piece is shaped in real time around your taste rather than guessed at by an algorithm.

What are the three booking options?

Guests can choose from three Highland Hatter experiences: an In-Store Fitting, an On-Site Fitting, or a Private In-Store Event. Each path is designed for a different kind of visit, depending on group size, location, and the level of privacy you want.

Can I book online?

In-Store Fittings can be reserved online. On-Site Fittings and Private In-Store Events begin with a quick text or a 10-minute call so we can confirm the details before moving forward.
